I’ve spent the past seven years in one form of stealth mode or another. I’m finally in a place where I feel that I can withstand the spotlight and bring to market something that will make a difference in the world.
I’m a scorpio, prefer swimming to long walks on the beach, and I’m focused on achieving a single goal.
Update (October, 2015)
I’ve cut back on everything with the exception of The Learning Studio. It takes a lot of discipline to say no to a lot of people.
Update (March 12, 2014)
Various businesses and projects have changed drastically over the past few months. 10 Startups has been put on the back burner for the foreseeable future. PubCo Journal has been soft launched at a mining conference in Toronto, and a hard launch is planned for April. Gobi Capital is under stealth mode until a few issues are resolved in the coming weeks. This blog may shift in direction and scope depending on how things turn out. I had no clue that there are 510 subscribers!
Update (Apr 20, 2011)
Currently living north of Toronto and running Gobi Capital just like before. In a few weeks I will be heading back to Asia and writing daily again.
Update (Nov 11, 2010)
A number of people have been asking “why Scotch in Japan”. A very simple answer – there is a little boy (18-24 months) whom I got to know fairly well earlier this year. He was very shy when we first met, however he soon warmed up to me and started calling my name whenever I was around. The problem was he couldn’t say the “T” in Scot – saying Scoch or Scotch with heavy emphasis on the “ch”.
A wise man once said, “Patience is nothing more than having something to think about while waiting for something else to happen.” I guess I got tired of thinking and waiting.
I hopped on a plane, flew to the other side of the world and I’m living in Sendai, Japan. For the past ten years I’ve regarded myself as an entrepreneur yet I’ve never been satisfied with any of the success that I’ve had and frustrated with the failures. I’ve always felt that there was something missing and this journey is about finding passion again.
All pictures and videos have been shot with a Blackberry Bold 9700. And yes it does work in Japan.
