Passport – check. Ticket – not needed. Music – check. Movies – seen them all on the last flight and Air Canada isn’t big on getting new ones.
The game plan this time is a little different from last time. The last trip was more based on gathering information on the local market, do some market research, basic recon stuff. Now, well now it’s the game changer time. The hard work begins as soon as I step off the Shinkansen (bullet train). Get over jetlag in under 72 hours (no booze, 2 hour jog, 90 minute workouts, no tv or movies), keep things going in Toronto with Gobi and then turn my attention to Tokyo.
Two words: day-care. Yep, that’s the opportunity and here’s the strategy – strengthening families. Simple, easy to understand and repeatable anywhere in the world because chances are that the love of my life will not be returning to Canada anytime soon. Also it doesn’t look like people will stop reproducing anytime soon and there is a definite shortage of quality early childhood educators on this rock we call home.
But Scotch, you’re not an ECE. But Scotch, you’re not trained to educate people, let alone small children. But Scotch, you don’t know how to run a school. But Scotch, why should I or anyone else trust you with a child? But Scotch, you don’t have any children of your own. But Scotch, but but but. To all of the doubters and haters out there, here’s what I have to say to you – either get on board or get out of the way because this is the path that I’ve chosen for myself and nothing – not you or anyone else will stop me from being with the one that I love.
So now that the cat is out of the bag, I hope that I have your support and I welcome any input that you have. The process of the next few weeks will involve finalizing the plan, going into stealth mode (no more talk, all action), then launch with a VIP party and the grand opening. I figure that I could have it up and running before the end of the year – probably sooner if I spent a solid six months in the country, but life is too short to do that.
And yes, eventually I will bring the concept to Toronto.
Get ready baby, I’m coming home!
